Congratulations on your decision to have a cosmetic surgical procedure! Now you have several additional decisions to make, including the selection of a surgeon. Although there are several factors to consider in making this important decision, selecting from amongst those surgeons that have been approved for a new and unique insurance product named PatientInsure is an important first step.
PatientInsure is important to you because it provides financial assistance with medical expenses in those rare instances when a medical complication occurs during or following a cosmetic surgical procedure.
The majority of major medical health insurance policies do not cover elective cosmetic surgical procedures. Thus, when medical complications result from such procedures, most health policies will also not cover the expense of treating your medical complication, even if the treatment is considered medically necessary. As a result, you may be required to pay an unexpected medical bill which could easily exceed the cost of your cosmetic surgical procedure. PatientInsure was developed to alleviate this concern for the patient and surgeon.
The PatientInsure program covers several medical complications that may occur during or after one of the 18 Covered Procedures.
PatientInsure is not available directly to cosmetic surgery patients. It is, however, available only to patients of PatientInsure Participating Physicians. To be a Participating Physician, the surgeon must be a Fellow of the American Academy of Cosmetic Surgery (AACS) with a board certification by a member board of the American Board of Medical Specialties approved by the AACS or board certification by the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery with an MD designation.
PatientInsure has received the endorsement of the American Academy of Cosmetic Surgery. To find a PatientInsure Participating Physician in your area please use the Find A Doctor feature on this website or call us at 1.888.810.1993.
